Yamaha IBR flagged off on 7th December

Bollywood heartthrob, Ranbir Kapoor flagged off the Yamaha India Bike Rally, the first reality show by BIGADDA at the MMRDA Ground, in Mumbai on 7th December. Ranbir Kapoor came in full gusto to encourage the twenty finalists of the Yamaha India Bike Rally as they got ready to travel on Yamaha bikes over 4,500 km across 40 cities in 7 states in India for the next 21 days.

The rally covers an extensive stretch across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh in a time span of just 21 days. The finalists were selected after a gruelling round of auditions over the last few weeks in various centres. 13 young men and 7 women from Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Ahmedabad have made it to the final twenty. Divided into 10 teams, each team consisting of 2 members will halt at a village or town (‘pit stops’) each day according to their route map.

The tasks at these stops have been designed to give participants local flavors and experiences, whether it is kite making in Gujarat, an orange harvesting festival in Nagpur, a cow milking contest in Gwalior, or a roti making competition at a dhaba en route from Delhi to Chandigarh.

Commenting on IBR, Pankaj Dubey, National Business Head, India Yamaha Motor, said, “Yamaha has been constantly shifting gears to transform the market from utility to pleasure & lifestyle. Today, Yamaha offers innovative designs, sporty looks and premium features across models as part of its strategy to give consumers a new thrill in biking. With the Yamaha India Bike Rally kick starting from today, the company sets in a new era of bike rally which caters to the aspirations of the young Indian bikers. We have taken up this idea with as much zeal as the contestants themselves and Bigadda added to this passion of bringing an opportunity to discover India with India’s very own biking enthusiast ready to make a mark on Yamaha Bikes.”

What a great Response !!! for IBR to get R15, Fazer or FZ.

The first reality show to be conducted by Yamaha, no television promotions but still such a huge response...The latest buzz in the fields of social media marketing Yamaha India Bike Rally (IBR), received an overwhelming response of entries of over 8000 since the registration was opened on 20th October.

The registrations are not only from key metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai but also from cities like Ajmer, Calicut, Chittorgarh and Ghaziabad. While there was facility for getting registered online on the micro site specially created for IBR, a 'call for entry' initiative was also launched by Bigadda wherein offline activities in Fun Cinema multiplexes and colleges across cities complemented the online registration process. Currently, the auditions are being conducted to shortlist the finalists for Yamaha India Bike Rally-Bharat Ki Khoj.

The game is not only for the yamaha YZF-R15, that will be given as Grand prize but also First and Second Runner up and four other lucky online users will win Yamaha Bikes. 5 million plus users of Bigadda will get a chance to rate the contributions made by the bikers and the winner will be decided on the basis of the overall number of votes received on his or her blog posts, photos and videos.

Mr. Shivanandan Pare, COO, Bigadda said, ‘This is the first time that a reality show has been launched on any social networking platform. We are overwhelmed by the response that IBR has received making it an instant hit already among the youth. As a youth networking website, we have always supported the need to help the youth empower themselves. We wanted to provide them with a platform to discover the real India, and are happy that Yamaha has come forward to support us in this initiative."

Commenting on IBR, Mr. Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor said, "With Yamaha India Bike Rally, we are creating one more benchmark in providing the true motorcycling experience to Indian consumers. It is designed to provide Kando* to the 20 short-listed participants as they get to experience the superiority of Yamaha’s Technology and Quality while riding over 4,700 kms on Yamaha bikes covering 7 states over a period of 21 days."

"Through innovative events like Yamaha IBR and our regular events such as Ride-tech Challenge and R15 Racing Championships, we take forward our global legacy of being a brand that is refining the motorcycling culture in India by providing Indian bike enthusiasts with the combined thrill of technological superiority and artistic brilliance", he added.

Yamaha Launches Legendary V-Max

There has never been anything to beat the VMAX since 1985…until now…by Yamaha V-max 2009.

Yamaha V-Max Official Release

The rebirth of a legend , a mega-muscle bike with drag-strip acceleration for the biggest adrenaline kick on the street.
The need for speed has been high on the list of cruiser buyers, resulting in the creation of some beautiful and seriously grunty machine. The iconic Yamaha VMAX has always been regarded world wide as a two-wheel equivalent of the big American V8 cars.

The mad acceleration rush and the deep growl of the V4 motor together offered crazy levels of thrill and excitement to the adrenaline junkies of the world. The V-max was fast and violent. The bike had Hooliganism stamped on it from front to rear.

The first generation V-Max unveiled in 1985 remained largely unchanged for next twenty years albeit with minor upgrades like better brakes and improved suspension components to aid its infamous handling characteristics. The second generation model, known as Yamaha VMAX, was showcased in June, 2008 with an all-new 1,679cc V4 engine and lightweight diamond shaped aluminium chassis. The new 2009 VMAX successfully carried forward the design philosophy of its predecessor but with a more mental powerplant and equally competent cycle parts to give the new bike respectable handling and dynamic ability.
